2019 // STREET SYSTEMS
A research project which documents, archives, imagines for, and analyzes the contested space on Calle Milan, and in the neighbourhood of Colonia Juarez in general. By investigating questions about who can claim public space and who can create political space, Street Systems presented an opportunity for dialogue which often remains suppressed in a professional office setting - using as its backdrop a series of observations from the perspective of a foreigner to Mexico. The project resulted in a softcover publication and internal lecture event.
Reurbano is a Mexico City-based developer and agent of social change committed to promoting urban life, public transportation, pedestrianization and local commerce. The following draft was put together under the leadership and guidance of Paola Tovar during my time at Reurbano.
